Caretaker's ChambersChamber of Reception
The main entrance to Hogwarts, the Entrance Hall has high soaring ceilings and a breezy feeling to it. The doors to the Entrance Hall are locked every night at eleven and opened every morning at six, so if you miss curfew, you may be in for a long night.

All roads lead to Rome, and all Hogwarts staircases eventually lead to the Grand Staircase. If you ever get lost, the Grand Staircase is the best place to regain your bearings before getting to where you're going.

The Great Hall is the largest hall in Hogwarts, and can easily fit all the students and staff, with room left over. Four long tables run along the length of the hall where students can eat, with floating candles lighting the meals. The ceiling above is enchanted to reflect the sky outside, so if you look up, you'll be sure to find a breathtaking view.

The staff lounge is a place for the staff to relax, plan lessons, and commiserate with each other. An old wardrobe stands in the corner, a boggart's old home. Two gargoyle statues guard the entrance, so good luck getting in without a staff member accompanying you.

The Transfiguration classroom is the most orderly of all of the classrooms, with neat, straight rows and columns of desks. The desks themselves are magically enchanted so that if a spell goes awry, they can change to accommodate whatever is sitting on it without breaking, whether that be an elephant or an elephant shrew.

A small courtyard on the interior of the school, the Transfiguration Courtyard is a favorite place for many students to get some fresh air in between classes without going too far out of their way. The doors are locked on the first day of December to keep the corridors from getting too drafty, but they open again on the first day of March.
