She will stand up to anyone who she thinks is being unfair or just plain stupid, and she will do so fiercely, whether they are friend or foe, if she genuinely believes that they are in the wrong. The redhead is also a capable mimic and uses this talent to devastating effect against those whom she disapproves of (Fleur and Professor Umbridge being prime examples). Her personality is very strong, and she seldom shows much emotion- possibly a by-product of growing up with six brothers.
She is energetic and lively by nature, although she is also capable of controlling this when necessary. Unfortunately (according to some) she almost never sees this as necessary, meaning that her bounciness is practically permanent. She has a quick wit and is often funny to the extent that she can make other laugh even when they are feeling miserable and down.
In addition, she is a very capable liar, though she seldom has the need to exercise this. She has a very persuasive and endearing personality, which inclines others to believe her and like her. This means that she makes friends just as easily as she makes enemies. Ginny doesn't suffer fools lightly, but she will offer help and comfort to anyone in genuine need.
history: Ginny grew up as the youngest child at The Burrow with six brothers. She was largely ignored by her siblings for much of her early life, leading her to develop a thick skin and a witty personality which was possibly a way of forcing her family to take notice of her. She seldom left her home until the age of eleven, when she was accepted to Hogwarts. At age ten, however, she met the famous Harry Potter when he met her family at King's Cross just before the beginning of the school year, and this brief encounter was the basis of a long lasting crush on the boy, which she only eventually got over a few years later.
She was sorted into Gryffindor along with her brothers, and had an eventful second year when she was possessed by the spirit of Lord Voldemort, manifesting itself through a diary. She was eventually freed of this influence by Harry Potter, which only worsened her crush on the poor boy, who had no idea of how she felt. After this experience, she became far more tough skinned and began to develop more of her own individual personality rather than living in the shadows of her brothers. In her fourth year, she formed a part of the DA in direct defiance of Umbridge's rulings and later took part in the battle in the Department of Mysteries, where she proved herself a skilled duellist despite her young age. Suring this year, she also first tried out for the Quidditch team and took the position of Seeker as Harry was in detention with Professor Umbridge.
In her fifth year, she and Harry grew closer and eventually kissed after Gryffindor won the Quidditch Cup from Ravenclaw. Despite her brother's objections, she and Harry dated until the end of the year, when they split up because of Harry's concern for her safety. During her sixth year, she remained at Hogwarts while the trio were off hunting for Horcruxes, reestablishing the DA along with Neville and Luna, and supporting the students as they fought back against the Death Eaters who were controlling the school. This involved trying to protect students from being abused by the Death Eater teachers, as well as standing up to the Carrows and Snape by means of both passive and violent resistance- refusing to carry out assignments, hexing the people in question, attempting to protect other students from being attacked- which led to multiple instances of torture by the Carrows over a prolonged period of time- by means of the Cruciatus Curse and generalised infliction of pain- until she was eventually forced to hide out in the Room of Requirement and continue the DA's work by sneaking out at night to assist students and to spread DA propaganda by means of leaving messages on walls. Things came to a head with the Battle of Hogwarts, where Ginny fought fiercely despite her parents ordering her to remain in the Room of Requirement. On Harry's apparent death, she broke from the ranks of the Hogwarts forces to express her grief, and was hurled back into violence with his return to life. After the victory, she returned home with her family and spent the summer recuperating- along with spending a week or two relaxing on the French coast at the Ministry's expense (thanks for her work against the Carrow regime), she also made several visits to a number of psychiatrists, both Muggle and wizarding. In the case of the Muggles, she had to pretend to be a refugee from a war-torn country in the Middle East. At the beginning of this academic year, she is returning to complete her final year of studies and will be sharing a dormitory with Hermione for the first time. Much to her delight, she has been awarded the position of Quidditch Captain, and plans to play the position of Chaser as she finds that it suits her far better than the Seeker position. Having lived through the war, she is determined that she will do the best that she can at school as she has realised just how fragile her existence is, and no longer takes it as much for granted.---
