As the Gryffindor approached, Jaxon cracked a quick, nervous smile. He had definitely seen her around, but of course, he hadn't really spoken to her. Her name was on the tip of his tongue, if only he could recall correctly... But luckily, he didn't have to, because she stated her name as she greeted him. "Uh, yeah, Jaxon, that's me!" he replied, taking her outstretched hand and shaking it firmly. Under his breath, he said, "Madeline Avas, I have to remember that."
Things were already going better than he'd anticipated. "The first week of school was fantastic, thanks," he said in response to her question. "I was actually planning on spending the weekend clearing my mind, preparing for my classes, things like that. What about you?"

Classes at Hogwarts had hardly even started yet, but it was already feeling as if everything was dragging on forever. Of course, things were significantly less exciting than the last couple years, with the battle and all, but it still seemed a bit early to be tired of classes. Probably the best thing to do in this situation was to refresh your mind, get ready to face anything that came up. From this point, the beginning of the year, things were only going to become more difficult.
Luckily, it was the weekend break, which would give Jaxon enough time to clear his mind and prepare for his classes that were coming up in a few days. In order to do so, Jaxon had went down to the entrance hall, one of his favorite places to go to sort out his thoughts. The high, elegant ceiling and spacious interior gave the hall both a calm and safe feel to it. Sure, quite a few students passed through here throughout the day, but it was still a great place to hang out, at least in Jaxon's opinion.
Jaxon's mind drifted for a few minutes, quickly switching from one subject of thought to another. He started to ponder on what he'd learned and done during his years at Hogwarts, a small grin playing across his face. He'd learned so much about the world during his time here, yet he'd barely even spoken to many of the students in the school, let alone the ones in his year. Maybe this time, things would be different. As a few students walked by, a surge of confidence rushed over him. "Hey!" Jaxon called out, waving to a girl of whom he was sure was in his year. Hopefully she'd reply, or at least acknowledge his greeting, although he wouldn't blame her if she didn't. @madeline

jaxon blake atwood rumors spread like wildfire age: sixteen date of birth: 12 february 1982 gender: male sexuality: heterosexual house: ravenclaw year: sixth year occupation: n/a wand: 10½", pine wood. dragon heartstring core. patronus: panther - Jaxon uses the memory of when he and his mother visited a local circus (during one of the last days she was healthy) which had a variety of animals and performers boggart: an enormous black rat representing disease, the cause of Jaxon's mother's death. special ability: n/a playby: luke bilyk
personality: Jaxon is an intelligent and attentive student, well-rounded in most subjects, and fairly good-looking as well. Even so, he’s quite the introvert, his quietness and independence leading others to believe that he thinks he’s superior to them, or that he’s a snob. In reality, he just feels overwhelmed and unsure about how to go about communication with other students. Due to this, his speech is often accompanied with slight stuttering and “uh's.” These qualities seem to drive others away rather than draw them in.
If you manage to get past Jaxon’s stony exterior, you’ll find that he’s actually a fun and person to hang out with. This side of him, often only shown to friends, shows that he’s creative and witty, often thinking of ways to cure boredom or make his friends laugh. If things were going downhill, he’d be a shoulder to cry on and would try his best to cheer you up. His negative feelings (sadness, anger, etc.) are often masked with cheeriness or calm. He is independent, and would rather figure things out on his own than accept help.
When he's not attending classes or studying, Jaxon can be found sketching, writing, or just hanging around. His drawings are often of both magical and non-magical creatures the type/species varying. When he writes, it reflects his mood; happier pieces when he's happy, sadder ones when he's feeling down, etc. He also enjoys watching quidditch games and practices, and visits the quidditch pitch to watch the players when he has nothing else to be doing. Although he is not interested in playing himself, he still finds the game interesting and fun to watch.
history:
On February 12th, 1982, a baby boy was born in a small town in the UK. The parents, John and Olivia Atwood, were overjoyed, as he was their first child. They had decided on the name Jaxon, a unique spelling of a more common name, Jackson, and their second favorite name, Blake, had been chosen to be the baby's middle name.
The earlier years of Jaxon's life were full of fun and joy. The Atwood family visited amusement parks, zoos, and other attractions, making the most of their time wherever they went. Jaxon was full of surprises, and said his first word, "owl," during one of the family's zoo trips.
As Jaxon grew older, he took a liking football (soccer), so his parents began to buy him football-themed toys, outfits, and room decorations. At the age of five, Jaxon eagerly joined an autumn youth football team. He was a natural player, and got even better with each practice.
At the team's first game, Jaxon was assigned to be goalee. He would have rather played on the field, but reluctantly agreed. The game quickly progressed, Jaxon blocking most of the rival team's shots. During the last few minutes of the game, one of the other team's players shot the ball to the goal, the solid sphere heading right towards Jaxon's head. He braced himself for impact, but instead, the football had stopped and was hovering a hair's width away from his face. Jaxon had curiously reached out and poked the ball, and it started to zoom straight towards the player who had kicked the ball, sending him flying backwards. Luckily, he wasn't seriously injured, it was only a sprained ankle and a few bruises.
There were a few similar occurrences before the Ministry contacted Mr. and Mrs. Atwood about Jaxon's abilities. The Ministry explained the basics of the Wizarding World, why Jaxon had obtained these abilities, and what it would mean for his future. The Atwoods were confused but understanding, and relayed the information to their son. They had also decided to pull Jaxon from the soccer team for his own safety and as to not arouse more suspicion, which Jaxon was not happy about.
A few years later, Jaxon recieved his letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He was excited yet unsure if he wanted to go. But his parents urged him to, telling him that it was a great opportunity and it would help him to control his abilities. He eventually agreed to go. Their neighbors, who happened to be of wizard lineage, offered to take Jaxon to Diagon Alley to gather his supplies and to Platform 9¾ when it was time for him to go.
During his first few years at Hogwarts, Jaxon was determined to learn as much about the Wizarding World as he could. He paid extra attention in class, read up on history and informative books , and studied hard. Soon enough, he knew as much about the Wizarding World as any pure-blood witch or wizard. A few days before he started his third year, Jaxon's mother took him on a trip to a circus that had stopped in town. There, he had some of the most fun that he'd had outside of Hogwarts in years. But months later, in the middle of the year, Jaxon recieved a message from his father that stated that his mother had contracted and succumbed to a deadly disease. He was devastated and thoughts of what happened / what could have happened haunted him for the remainder of the year. Spending time with his father in between years three and four helped to take Jaxon's mind off his mother's demise. He returned in his fourth year refreshed and happier, ready to start anew. However, that period of calm didn't last long. Tensions were risimg between both student and faculty throughout Jaxon's fourth and fifth years. Severus Snape, the school's former Potions, professor had been appointed headmaster. Jaxon didn't know much about Professor Snape, but during classes he seemed to be a bit harsh. Things were significantly different than from when Dumbledore was headmaster, the increase in the distrust of muggle-born witches and wizards being only one change. A secret student defense group had formed called 'Dumbledore's Army.' Jaxon didn't partake in the group, but he didn't report it, either. Laying low was an easy way to save his hide, especially as a muggle-born, but he would still try to help and support their cause little by little. During this time, Jaxon proceeded with his classes and schedule normally, or at least as normal as the changes allowed. But deep within his fifth year at Hogwarts, a conflict arose. The Battle of Hogwarts. He wasn't too clear upon how exactly it started, but he was willing to help in any way he could. Jaxon stayed out of the battle for the first part to observe and devise a tactic. He used stealth and surprise to his advantage, attempting to sneak up on and ambush enemies. He used this tactic for most of the battle as well as a wide variety of spells. By the end of the fight, Jaxon had lost quite a few friends, but was glad to have worked in part to potentially save much more. Over the break, Jaxon and his father spent a lot of time discussing the battle. Mr. Atwood was impressed and grateful that his son wasn't injured or killed. Together, they visited out-of-the-way family members to catch up with them, and visited attractions and tourist locations like they had when Jaxon was younger. The time spent together had brought them even closer after the late Mrs. Atwood's death. By the end of the break, Jaxon was reluctant to leave but was still brimming with excitement to start his sixth year at Hogwarts. --- alias: Jaxon age: 18 time zone: Eastern Standard Timezone (UTC -5:00) other characters: n/a
