Knockturn is a alternate universe, post-war Harry Potter roleplay. We aim to create interesting and unique stories that diverge from the canon endings that J.K. Rowling has written, focusing on character development and improving all of our member's writing skills. Our plot is staff-created but member-driven, and we love to hear new and interesting ways that we can challenge our characters and each other. Knockturn is a fast-paced, intermediate site with an active staff team. We love new members, and we're happy to have you here at Knockturn!

Events,
Return to Hogwarts -
September first has arrived, and so has the Hogwarts Express! Students will be returning to school for the first time since the Battle of Hogwarts. After the Welcoming Feast there will be a brief memorial for all students who died in the battle.
Character Creation
The application can be found here! Please post your applications here for review. Add a WIP if it is still in progress. You can find the ACCEPTED characters here.
Owls
Letters serve as a way for wizards to keep in contact with those who aren't in their immediate vicinity, or as a way to have conversations that are too awkward for face-to-face interaction.
Lower Levels
The lower levels of Hogwarts are the most easily accessible, but also tend to be the draftiest. The basement, dungeons, ground, and first floors are located here.
Mid Levels
The mid levels of Hogwarts include the second, third, fourth, and fifth floors. They offer plenty of ways to get into trouble, but also a multitude of opportunities to learn.
Upper Levels
The upper levels of Hogwarts are spacious and don't contain many classrooms. All of the windows offer picturesque views of the grounds below.
Grounds
Hogwarts's camps encompasses far more than just the castle; there's plenty of places to explore on the castle's sprawling grounds, which are kept safe and manicured by the gamekeeper.
Diagon Alley
A hub of activity in the Wizarding world, Diagon Alley is a popular place to shop. Here you can find anything you can dream of, from joke shops to seamstresses to ice cream parlors. Diagon Alley is loud and crowded, but also truly magical.
Knockturn Alley
A shady alley just a few wrong turns from Diagon Alley, Knockturn Alley is still swimming with illicit materials despite heavier regulation from the new Ministry.
Quidditch Arenas
Quidditch is by far the most popular sport in Wizarding Britain, and as a result there's quite a few arenas. Most of them are in the middle of nowhere, and all are heavily warded with anti-Muggle charms.
St. Mungo's
St. Mungo's is the place to go if you are sick or injured; it only deals with magical problems, however - if you have a cold, just stay home and take a Pepper-Up Potion!
The Ministry of Magic
The seat of power for the magical government, the Ministry of Magic employees hundreds of witches and wizards to keep the magical community running smoothly and secretly.
London
The main port between the Muggle and magical worlds, London is a beautiful city with a history that stretches longer and deeper than most people will ever know.
